|Samenvatting||It is necessary to know what collision avoidance behavior the driver will take against provided information and warning, in order to design and evaluate the Advanced cruise-assist Highway System (AHS). Because the AHS was not realized in its design stage, driver evasive manoeuvers in AHS when the hazard was out of his/her field of view were collected by using a driving simulator which realized AHS virtually. The experimental results showed that 80 to 90 % of drivers started braking after information and warning service were provided and some drivers took brakes softly when he/she does not see the hazard directly and increased braking force after appearance of hazard to stop in front of it.
