Samenvatting The feasibility of detecting drugs using saliva samples obtained from impaired drivers is examined. Screening procedures on 1 to 2 ml samples were for cannabinoids, volatile, benzodiazepines, and other acidic /neutral /basic drugs. Fifty six examples were obtained. Other than alcohol, the major drugs detected were cannabinoids and diazepam. Cocaine was found in one case.
