|Samenvatting||This paper will review new developments in road safety which ARRB Transport Research staff have reviewed or helped develop in recent years, and which appear to offer road safety benefits. Developments to be covered include seat belt interlocks, "smart" licences, intelligent speed adaptation, community road safety, expert advisory systems to set speed limits, and expert systems to assist in carrying out safety audits. To the extent that this is possible, the paper will identify the problem each development addresses, give an indication of the extent of the problem, and assess the likely benefits from each development. (Author/publisher) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD abstract no. E205827.|
