Samenvatting The taking of alcohol (A) and that of drugs is having an increasing trend in Kabardino-Balkarian region of Russia, as is the case in the whole country. These habits are contributing into strong conducive factors exerting a damaging impact on safe driving performance (SDP). Besides A, the use of legal and illegal medicines in vehicle drivers (VD) remain a stable risk factor (RF) for roadside crashes (RC). An official ban on A, some of the legal drugs in VD, other control measures of the mentioned habits cannot be considered a reliable prophylactic RC means. Aiming at the assessment of the A impact on professionally relevant functions and qualities (PRFQ) of VD, RC analyses were attempted in drinking subjects and psychophysiological tests (PPT) in 122 VD taking A (once a week and more often) by means of chronoreflexometrical appliance.
